محمد عمر بشارة وُلد محمد عمر بشارة بأمدرمان، السودان. تخرج في جامعة الخرطوم، كلية الآداب، بمرتبة الشرف في عام 1972. وحصل على دبلومٍ عالٍ في الفنون الجميلة معادلٍ لدرجة الماجستير من مدرسة الفنون الجميلة التابعة لجامعة لندن. كتب في الفنون للعديد من الصحف والمجلات السودانية والعربية والأمريكية والبريطانية. وكُتب عنه العديد من المقالات في صحف ومجلات مختلفة. عمل صحفياً ومترجماً وكاتب مقالات عن الفنون بالعديد من الصحف والمجلات السودانية(1968ـ1977)، ثم رئيساً لقسم الفنون الجميلة بوزارة الثقافة والإعلام بالسودان، (1977ـ1981)، ومسئولاً عن التنظيم والإدارة بمتحف التراث والزراعة التابع لجامعة الملك فيصل، المملكة العربية السعودية (1981ـ1983)، ومترجماً بجامعة الملك فيصل، المملكة العربية السعودية،(1981ـ1999). ويعمل منذ أكتوبر عام 2000 بمتحف الفن الحديث بأكسفورد، بريطانيا. صمم أغلفة عدد من الكتب، وصاحبت رسوماته التوضيحية الكثير من الأعمال من بينها كتابه الذي صدر عن دار غراندير للنشر بفرنسا في عام 2003، والذي يضم لوحات ورسومات بالحبر ونص حكاية من أساطير قبيلة الدينكا السودانية كتبه البروفيسور فرانسيس دينق. صدر هذا الكتاب تحت عنوان "أماتونغ"، ويقع ضمن معروضات معرض السودان، الماضي والحاضر الذي أقامه المتحف البريطاني (سبتمبر 2004 ـ يناير 2005). حصل محمد عمر بشارة على الجائزة الأولى في التصميم والفنون التشكيلية التي تمنحها مجلة الفنون الأفريقية، 1974، وعلى جائزة Marjorie Field في تقنيات الطباعة لعام 2004، والتي رشحه لنيلها اتحاد المتخصصين في تقنيات الطباعة بأكسفورد، انجلترا، في ديسمبر عام 2003. نظّم ورش عمل فردية وشارك في ورش جماعية، وهو عضو في عدد من الجمعيات الفنية.

Né à Omdurman, Soudan. Il a écrit des articles sur l’art dans différents journaux et magazines soudanais, arabes, britanniques et américains. Plusieurs écrivains et éditorialistes ont également écrit sur son œuvre. Il a travaillé comme journaliste, traducteur et éditorialiste dans des journaux et magazines soudanais (1968 - 1977), et a été Chef de département des Beaux Arts au Ministère soudanais de l’Information et de la Culture (1977-1981), organisateur et administrateur au Musée d’Agriculture et du Patrimoine, Université du Roi Faisal, Arabie saoudite (1981-1983), traducteur, Université du Roi Faisal, Arabie saoudite (1981 - 1999). Il est actuellement Assistant de Conservateur au Musée d’Art Moderne, Oxford, Angleterre depuis octobre 2000. Parmi ses oeuvres on compte la conception de couvertures, les travaux artistiques et les illustrations de plusieurs livres. Son livre intitulé Amatong, paru en 2003 aux éditions Grandir, France, contenant ses dessins en noir et blanc accompagnés du texte d’une légende populaire des Dinka, du Sud Soudan, écrit par le Professeur Francis Deng, est exposé dans le cadre de l’exposition Le Soudan, passé et présent au British Museum, Londres (septembre 2004-janvier 2005). Mohamed Omer Bushara fût le lauréat du Premier Prix de Graphique et
d’Arts Plastique du Magazine d’Arts Africain, du Centre d’Etudes
Africaines, Université de Californie, Los Angeles (1974), ainsi que de
l’édition 2004 du prix Majory Field en technique d’imprimerie, pour
lequel il a été présenté en 2003 par les membres de la Coopérative des
techniques d’imprimerie d’Oxford, Royaume Uni. Il est Membre de différentes associations artistiques. Il a organisé des ateliers et a participé à des expositions individuelles et collectives. Born in Omdurman, Sudan. Graduated from the University of Khartoum, Faculty of Arts, B.A Honours, Sudan, in 1972, he obtained a Higher Diploma in Fine Art equivalent to M.A, on Slade School of fine art, London University College. He wrote on arts for different Sudanese, Arabic, British and American news papers, and many writers and editors wrote about his work. He worked as journalist, translator and art editor for different Sudanese newspapers and magazines ( 1968 - 1977), occupied the post of Head of the Fine Art Section, Department of Culture, Ministry of Culture and Information, Khartoum-Sudan, (1977-1981), Museum Organizer/Administrator at King Faisal University Museum of Agriculture and Heritage, Saudi Arabia (1981-1983), translator, King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia 1981-1999. He is now as a gallery assistant at the Museum of Modern Art, Oxford-England since Oct. 2000. He created cover design, art work and illustrations for several of books. His book entitled Atong, published in 2003 by Grandig editions, France with his drawings in black and white with a text of a folk tale from Dinka tribe in Southern Sudan written by Professor Francis Deng, is currently on display as part of the exhibition Sudan, past and present at The British Museum, London, which runs until January 2005. Plastic Arts from African Arts Magazine, African Studies Centre, University
of California, Los Angeles, U.S.A (1974), the Marjory Field Award for 2004
in Printmaking, presented by Oxford Printmakers Co-Operative, Oxford,
England, December 2003. He organised individual workshops and participated in group ones. He
