Dr Abdulbasit Merghani, In search of The
Beautiful Being
The researcher advocates that it is possible for
Sudanese psychologists to play a certain role in the
marking out of the essential features of the
Identity, Citizenship and Personality, before more

encouraged by the fact that the recent history of
Sudan is laden with a rich cultural heritage,
documenting for the Sudanese personality in its
engagement in creative national movements. The

Dr Nahed
Mohamed al-Hassan: Psychological Projections of the
Question of Identity as Reflected in Sudanese Folk
Tales
This research firstly tackles the psychological
function of identity at the level of the subjective
and collective individuality and the significance of
belonging from the perspective of psychology and the
conception of identity’s connotations. Then it
moves towards studying folk tales from the
standpoint of their impacts on the Sudanese
character and of that of whether it is still an
effective analytical tool inasmuch as it is shadowed
by the eventual extinction of the Habbuba’s (i.e.,
Grandmother/Story teller’s) institution. And, from
there, it finally sets on studying the values and
general trends of the Sudanese character and its
attitude towards the question of identity,
concluding with instances of such folk tales.
The research’s conclusion involves a summary of the
most important and basic features of this study.
That is in an attempt to unmask areas of
vulnerability in the Sudanese character that would
be harmful to national unity, peace and thus
initiating other paths unfolding towards a promising
future horizons.

Abdalla Adam Khatir,
Political state of affairs and Federal Governance:
Challenges and chances for Success.
This paper attempts to open a discussion on the
possibility of steering the Sudanese political
experiment towards unity in diversity by proposing
different arrangements , most important among them
is the successful completion of the process of
peaceful transfer of power through democratic
elections. It also involves consolidating the
sentiment of belongingness to the homeland based on
a solid knowledge principle. This principle
represents an approach for tolerant acceptance of
criteria of political competition and that of
peaceful settlement of ethnic conflicts by adopting
a decentralism model derived from the multicultural
and multi-party political realities of the Sudan.

Dr Osman Ibrahim Osman, Policies of admission to
Higher Education under scrutiny
This paper attempts to handle the issue by shedding
light on the chaos created by the Government of
Sudan in the educational strategies in general and
in the structural foundations of education in the
Sudan in particular .After 1989 , ( the onset of
the coup that brought Al-Bashir to power) the
strategy of higher education was based on
